Instrument Lessons Available at SoundTide:

Private music lessons take place on a weekly basis for either a half hour or full hour based on the student's level and personal practice schedule. All lessons take place at the same time and with the same teacher each week to ensure the best musical development of our students. SoundTide is unique as a classical school that can teach all different genres from beginner to advanced levels, while tailoring each lesson to the individual needs of the student. Every student receives a personalized curriculum with music built on scaffolded learning, a pedagogical technique that allows the teacher to track and promote consistent improvement.

Advanced Chamber Music Ensemble

Performance Opportunities

Chamber Music at the advanced level provides a new layer of expertise for classical musicians. SoundTide offers the opportunity to audition for a premiere string ensemble experience that meets for a bi-weekly rehearsal and coaching session. The Advanced Chamber Music Ensemble is composed of a group of amazing young musicians who learn and perform music from the Baroque Era to the Modern Era, even collaborating with a local composer.

SoundTide encourages students to develop their performance skills. Recitals take place in the winter and summer, along with Master Classes for developing advanced performance techniques. As professionals, we understand the importance of audition preparation, and this is incorporated into how we work with each student and build curriculum at SoundTide.

Private Lessons

• Half Hour Lesson: $135 Monthly Tuition

Private Lessons are offered from beginner-advanced levels and are individually tailored to each student. Private lessons take place at the same time, location, and with the same teacher. In preparation for lessons, students should practice 15-30 minutes/day.

Chamber Music Ensembles

Advanced String Ensemble

*Chamber Music Ensembles are groups of 3-7 students in one rehearsal, learning to practice and perform together. The advanced ensemble is composed of experienced musicians from high school to college level, who work together to perform a diverse range of pieces from the Baroque Era to the modern day. Auditions take place on a semester basis.

General Policies

• Arrival Time

Please arrive at your scheduled time with instrument and lesson materials.

• Attendance & Rescheduling

Please contact us by phone (219.734.6320), text (219.203.0419), and email (scheduling@soundtidemusic.com) at least 48 hours in advance in order to schedule a make-up lesson.
After 2 absences without prior notification, we will attempt to contact the parent/guardian responsible for lessons; lack of reply may result in loss of lesson time slot.
Cancellation Policy
If we are not contacted 48 hours prior to an absence, the missed lesson will be billed as scheduled to compensate for the teacher’s time.
We understand that plans can change unexpectedly and unforeseen illness may occur. However, failing to notify us of a cancellation not only affects our staff, but also impacts other students. It is advisable to inform us of any changes in advance so that we can reschedule, if possible.

• Payment

All payments and monthly tuition are due at the beginning of each month. A credit card on file will be required upon sign up.
All payments for the previous month of lessons must be processed in order to continue with the scheduled lessons.

• Acquiring an Instrument

Instruments can be purchased or rented through Plum Grove Music: New & Used instruments can be acquired online or at local stores.
